In the French amateur golf champion ship in the first round Apperley had u walk : over; Charles Lopo defeated Godfrey, 3 up and 2 to'play; Spencer Gollan beat Terry 7 up and 6 to play; Palmer beat Lockwood 3 up and 2 to play ; Ouimet beat Worthington 8 up and 6 to play; Weber beat Ruffer 6 up and 5 to play; Travers beat Radcliffe 9up and-8 to play; Hereschoff beat Esmond at the nineteenth hole; Hale beat VagKano 8 up and 7 to play. In the second round Ouimet again played brilliant golf and defeated Palmer 4 up and 3 to play. He meets Hope to-morrow. Hope defeated Gollan 3 up and 2 to play; Apperley beat Snowden 4 up and 3 to play; Bowers beat Graves 3 up and Ito play; Travers beat Weber lup ; Hereschoff beat Hale 3 up and 1 to play; Tapping Chick beat Evans 2 up; Leblanc bc:;t Knapp 4 up and '•■ to play.
