GREY BY-ELECTION

Mr H. L. Michel will address the electors of Taylorville in Kaye’s Hall this evening at 8 o'clock. He will also speak at Runanga in the Miners’ Hall on Monday next at 8 o’clock. A meeting of committees and supporters of Mr H.' L. Michel’s candidature will be held in the Druids’ Hall on Monday evening at 8 o’clock. The ladies’ committee will meet at 3 o’clock on Tuesday afternoon. A well-attended meeting of Mr Hannan’s committee was held last night. The reports received from various parts of the electorate left no doubt as to large support assured. The wisli of the committee is to have a good, clean fight, with an entire absence of personalities and bitterness. The arrangement and carrying out of all details was left in the hnds of the Executive. Mr M. Hannan will address the electors of Ikamatna on Monday at 7 p.m., and Blackwater at 8.30 p.m. Ho speaks in Greymouth on Thursday, July 3rd, in the Ooera House. MR. MICHEL AT IKAMATUA. Mr, H. L. Michel addressed T be electors at Ikamatna last night, v/lmn there were nearly 200 present, Mr. G. Mclnroe occupied the chair. .The speaker outlined his policy, and met with a favourable reception, being applauded. He advocated in the Custom duties, the lost to be made up, if necessary, by a further tax on large estates. A large number of questions were satisfactorily answered and the speaker was accorded a unanimous vote of thanks, on the motion of Mr. J. K. Matheson,
