Madame Sonia (palmist) is now in Blackball, and mav be consulted at the Dominion Hotel. Applications for the position of head teacher at the Hatters’ school close with the secretary of the Education Board at noon to-morrow. An excellent day’s sport is promised at Ahaura to-morrow, when an athletic gathering will be held. The. special train services are advertised in another column. A quantity of furniture, consisting of mirrored sideboard, bedroom suite, etc., also a bicycle, is advertised for sale, particulars of which may be obtained at this office.

Don’t forget the dance in the Cobden Hall this evening. Callinan's orchestra will supply the music, so lovers of the light fantastic may expert a pleasant night’s amusement.

Written tenders for the erection of cottages at the Arthur's Pass station will be received up to noon on Tuesday, December 3rd, 1912. Tenders will be received at the Public Works. Office, Christchurch, and drawings .specifications, etc., for the buildings may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Grey mouth, Bcaley Flat, and Christchurch.
