That the Sunday evening display of pictft res is in favour with a great-majority of the public was amply displayed at the Opera House last evening by an enormous attendance, many- hundreds being, refused admittance. The display was a memorable one, and was witnessed by the large audience with the usual attention and order. Mr Pollard thanked the audience, in a short speech, for their attendance in the past, and outlined his future* movements consequent upon the Council closing down the Sunday displays. ' Changes will he made on Mondays, Wednesdays,' and Fridays/ Each programme will 'be screened ' for two evenings. Mondays and Tuesdays will be devoted to an all-new programme from Haywards, Ltd. ; and Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday to two all new programmes from Messrs John Fuller and Sons. To-night the first display of Haywards’ pictures will be initiated, and the programme will be,as follows: “Ranch’s new baker,” “Excursion-to th« Desert Isles.” “The Law of Mercy,” “Gus--sy’s Congratulations.” “A Slight Mistake,” “Transformation of Mike,” “Rill and Bertie’s Wedding Day,” “Lucerne,” “Th« s nare of Wealth,-” “A Pair of Bags.”
