NEW ZEADAND v. QUEENSLAND
VISITORS SUCCESS F CL. [per press association—copyright.] BRISBANE, June 29. Tho New Zealand League football team mot Queensland on the Brisbane cricket ground to-day. The weather was fine, but dull, and the attendance fair. The teams were ; New Zealand.—Full-back, Hargreaves ; three-quarters, Oilmour, Weston and Curran ; half-backs, Carlaw, Bradley and Barber; forwards Rukutai, Dunning, King, H. Hayward, M. Hayward and F rands. Queensland.—Full-back, Duffin ; threequarters, Woodhead, Lynch, Quinn and Hooker; five-eighths, W. Farnsworth; half-back, Heidke; forwards —Fahey, Collins, McKay, . Hedley, Meekin ' and Scholtz. Queensland won the toss and Francis kicked off. Queensland held their own in the scrums. The game was in progress half an hour when Bradley passed to Weston and the latter sent it on to Gilmour, who scored. Hargreaves failed to, goal. At half time,the score .was:' —New,' Zealand 3, Queensland 0. Early in tho second half Queensland; were penalised in their own twenty-five, and Francis landed a goal. Tho New; Zealanders continued to press and Carlaw kicked a poster. H. Hayward then; beat Duffin and scored. Francis again’’ goalod,' The New Zealanders again' pressed and M. Hayward scored easily. Francis was again successful with tho kick. Shortly! afterwards Quinn scored for Queensland,! but Duffin failed to goal. The home team! came again arid Lynch scored for Queens-; land, and Duffin goaled just before time| was called. The final score was: New Zealand 15; Queensland 8, j
