Hannah Dunn, aged 80 years, a widow residing in Sandford Street, Sydenham, was knocked down by a motor car in Colombo Street, Sydenham, about 5.40 yesterday evening, and died from the results of the injuries received. At the inquest today, Thos. When turning to return to his proper side, the woman evidently appeared in the middle of the road, and the next thing he knew the car had knocked her down. . At the time the motor car was going at between four and five mile san hour. Immediately he saw the woman he applied the brakes, and he believed he pulled up within five or six feet. The Coroner advised witness always to keep on his proper side of the road. He recorded the following verdict: — “That the deceased was killed in Colombo Street, Sydenham, by being knocked down by a motor car driven by one Thomas Guy while on his wrong side of the street.” It is probable that the police will proceed further in the matter.
