TRADE WITH CANADA

COMMONWEALTH DESIRE RECIPROCITY. [PER PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT.] SYDNEY, This Day. The Chamber of Commerce, in response to representations from agriculturists, has decided to endeavour to induce the Commonwealth Government to establish reciprocity with Canada and to renew subsequently the subsidy to the Shipping Companies. It is contended that much of the trade built up by Australians has been transferred to New Zealand. The latter having the first call on the cargo space on the steamers has the advantage of a halfpenny a pound on butter and a similar advantage on other lines under reciprocity.
