THI BUN. The sun sets to-day at 7.28 p.m.; rises to-morrow.at 4.16 a.m. THE MOON. The moon sets to-day at 5.31 a.m.;. lises to-morrow at 10.58 p.m. LOCAL REPORT. The maximum temperature recorded yesterday was 68 degrees, and the minimum for the night was 50 degrees. At nine o'clock this morning the temperature was 59 degrees. The barometer registered 29.88. The rainfall for the 24 hours vas 0.01 inches. WEATHER REPORTS. Westport. Wind, north-east, light; barometer, 29.76; thermometer, 55 degrees; tides. moderate; bar moderate. Greymouth.—Wind, east, light; barometer]! 29.84; thermometer, 59 degrees; tides good; bar rough. WEATHER FORECASTS. Last evening the dominion meteorologist .issued the following summary and forecast: —"The barometer has risen everywhere and the weather quickly improved to-day. The winds are principally from the south and west and are still strong to gale in parts, but have decreased and the storm lias now passed to the eastward of New Zealand. The present indications are for warm and hazy weather generally; increasing cloudiness following with more humid conditions shortlv "the winds will probably back to northeilies and freshen again with a falling barometer every where after about sixteen hours. Rev. D. C. Bates wired at noon as follows: — ''Winds freshening strong to gale, northerly winds. Expect unsettled and cloudy weather increasing and rain probably "following; glass fall. A storm area appears to be approaching from the westward; tides good, sea moderate swell."
