POLLARD'S PICTURES.

THE ELECTION RESULTS.

Mr. Tom Pollard showed his enterprise last night in a way in which he gave a further proof of his capability as an enterpreneuf. In addition to placing on the screen inside the Opera House a very attractive programme of moving pictures from 8 p.m. till'early this morning he dovetailed between each the election, local option and National prohibition returns as they came to hand by telegrams specially arranged for by him. This enabled the enormous audience that packed the house ?n every corner to keep posted in every detail of the election as it proceeded. But foreseeing that there would be a number who were desirous of enjoying the same privilege quite as much as those who paid for admission to the Opera House, he recalled the manager of his country tour, Mr. Tom Moor©, and his plant and installed that with an enormous screen in front of the Opera House where the results were screened simultaneously with those inside. Thus everyone in town was able to watch the Teturns posted and at the same time to witness as good a free show as was ever given in the open air in Greymouth. Mr. Pollard's generosity in this respect is highly commendable and few men of his profession have ever done more than he to cater for the enjoyment of the public. Hence he deserves well of them.
