OUR HATRED OF AUSTRALIANS.
A SLANDER REFUTED
[P«* PRHBB *.SBOOTATIOW—OOPIMOST.]
PERTH, This Day. Recently an article by Simons, in charge of the Young Australia League of boys touring America appeared in the local pres's, stating that strong antipathy was shown by New Zealanders to Australians, evidences of which he observed during the boys stay in Wellington. Sir Wm. Russell, returning to New Zealand by the Mooltan, being interviewed, declared that it was all nonense. The only feeling entertained towards Australians was one of cordiality and goodfellowship. New Zealanders had intense love for their own country but to say they despised Australians in the Dominion was ridiculous. The only real factor in Mr Simon's statement was that the New Zealande.rs in speech and mannerism were more English than were the Australians.
