ST. JOHN AMBULANCE.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE

A meeting of the Committee of the St. John Ambulance Association was held in the Town Hall last evening, the Ven. \rchdeacon York being in the chair, dtven members were present. Mr H. West, the secretary, read the minutes of last meeting and presented the balance sheet, which showed the Committee to have a credit balance in the Bank of £6B. Accounts to the amount of £23 18» were passed for payment. A letter was received from Mrs Batty, of Cobden (Lady Superintendent of the Nursing Ui '

complaining of the want of accommodation in the Town Hail and also asking the Committee to. provide an ambulance kit for the use of the Division. It was resolved that a deputation consisting oi the I'resident, Secretary, Mr E. J. Smith and .Mesdames Shroder, Drake, Batty and Miss Tindale wait upon the Town Clerk a explain to him the requirements oi th Division.

It was decided to purchase an ambulance kit and Mesdames Batty, Drake and Miss Tindale were appointed to provide !he secretary with full details of their requirements.

It was decided to call the Committee together on the third Friday of the New Year' to arrange for a public meeting to try and arouse some enthusiasm amongst the public of Greymouth concerning this most necessary association. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded !h e proceed i n gs.
