The Egyptian papers are attacking ex-President Roosevelt on account of his warm praise of British rule in the Soudan. There is apprehension of a hostile reception at Cairo if ho repeats his eulogies when addressing the Egyptian University on Monday. The police have offered protection. The Nationalists are jubilant at the acquittal of eight supposed accomplices in the murder of Boutro’s Pasha. Mr Roosevelt gave a stirring address to the native journalists of Cairo on their duties and esponsibilities.
