LITTLE GREY BRIDGE.
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l wish to draw attention to what 1 consider an injustice. A week or (wo the Inangahua County Council called for fenders for the erection of a swim- bridge m*F i] lS, UlUo Groy Rivcr ilt Antonio's I'lat. Jhe specifications stated thaE the timber to be used should be ironbark but that it tho contractor was unable to nrocurc ironbark at once, a reduction would be made ior tho use of bird,. No price was called or birch. When the tenders were opened by the Executive of {Tic Council my tender for ironbark was low est. Another tenderer gave a price for birch, and although his tender for ironbark was higher than mine, his tender was accepted. Now, sir, was this iust' I was able and prepared to supply ironbaric, .and no alternative tender was asked for. My tender, as the lowest, should have been accepted. I would also like to ask why the member for this Ridin-- Mr Mclnroe, is not appointed on the Executive when matters affecting bis district are being dealt with? Had Mr Mclnroo been present when the tenders were opened, I feel sure he would have opposod. Yours, etc., — P. J. FITZGERALD.
