GREY CRICKET CLUB.

The annua.] meeting of the Greymoutli Cricket Club was held iit the Gilmer Hotel last evening. Mr D. McKay (President of the Club) occupied tlie chair, while there were eighteen members present.

Mr K. S. Dillon (lion, secretary) (lien read the following report : "In presenting you with the annual report your Committee take pleasure ill congratulating the members on the very successful season just gone thron»li. Not only did the club win a greater percentage of matches than in previous years, but the cricket generally has been of a higher standard. Six members of the first eleven come out with double-figure bnttiii" averages, the list being headed by Messrs Dillon, C. Phillips, and Adams, while in the bowling department no lo&s than ten players averaged below 10 runs -er wicket. The total matches played were thirteen ; of these eleven were won and two lost. It is worthy of remark however, that the losses were sustained through the club being represented by exceptionally weak teams in each caw. "The number of rilllfi scored by the club .•"mounted to 1451, or 111.65 runs per match, and the runs made against the club wero 892, of 68.86 runs per match.

"Your Committee would suctrest that this year an increase be made in the amount of subscription, and also that an Association bo formed to properly supervise cricket on the Coast. In conclusion, your Committee wish the Club every success in the coming season." The report was adopted. Ten now members were proposed and duly elected.

The following officers were elected : President—Mr D. McKay.

Vice-Presidents—Drs J. 'lUcßrearly and W. McKay, Messrs H.D. Roberts A A Adams, J. W. Chalk, J. C. Dittos T Oxonhftm, W. H. Perkins. Captain—Dr J. W. McTireartv Vice-Captain—.Mr K. S. Dillon. Treasurer—Mr W. H. Perkins (re-elect-ed for 31st year in succession). Secretary—Mr F. Denton.

Selection Committco Dr JW Mc Prcarty, Messrs K. S. Dillon, and C.Phil lips.

It was decided to increase tlio subscription to £1 Is per annum; members under il years of age ( 0 be charged half fee; members to provide their own bats. Mr Fletcher proposed that a circular be issued to the other West Coast clubs, requesting their co-operation in reviving the Association: such mooting to be held at f.reymouth within (wo weeks. Carried. Dr McKay and the President were appointed the Club's delegates to such meeting.

The fixing of an opening date, was left willi the Committee.

Mr T Oxenham kindly presented the club with a, trophy o ft ho value of £1 ] s to be, presented to the'junior player who makes most improvement during the season.
