A NOTABLE DAY. SYDNEY, This Day.—The fiftieth anniversary of the opening of the first railway line in Australia—being the railway from Sydney to Parramatta—was celebrated to-day. Trains on the various suburban lines were decorated. The chief feature of the celebration is the exhibition of ancient and m-to-dato railway appliances, which was opened by the Governor during the afternoon.
