INVERCAUGILL, Sept. 25.—The Cabinet lias considered the ease of Daniel Swan, who was sentenced to death for the murder of his wife-at lnvorcargill, but no conclusion lias been arrived at. SERIOUS ACCIDENT. KLTHAM. September 26.—A rather serious accident occurred in the i<mona district, 35 miles hack from hero, to Patrick Kelly, a selector employed on the <o operative Rang. About ten tons of iripn rock slipped suddenly. Kelly threw liii; body clear, but both legs were broken mill mutilated. He was carried twelve miles bv his mates over bush tracks. Kelly's mate (Miller) was killed at the ':!•<' pla.ee under similar circumstances a few months ago.
