Cable)) Rugby, Feb. 2G The British Government has handed to the French Ambassador in London the reply to the French Note regarding the quota, restrictions, which suggested, pending negotiotions for a new commercial agreement, that the present measures should remain in operation, hut that no new ones should he instituted hv either side. Although it is possible that further conversations between flic two Governments may he necessary, it is now hoped that tin negotiations for a* new agreement will begin during the coming month.
