Our withdrawal from the League of Nations reduces us to Virtual isolation and that withdrawal, synchronising with tne forthcoming AYaj&hington Conference, increases our dangers. China is nursing a grudge. She is at present submissive', but is awaiting her opportunity. Meanwhile, the China-American friendship i £ increasing alarmingly. American influence is securing communications and aviaton rights. The Soviet is menacing and is increasing its border forces, concentrating 300 aeroplanes including many big bombers, at Vladivostok. The transfer of the fleet to the Pacific in case hostilities broke out with Russia might be expected, rendering her a potential enemy like Italy in the Great War.”
