MURDER AT HOBART
COLD-BLOODED CRIME WATERSIDER SHOT DEAD (Aust. ami N.Z. Cable.) Ilobart, April 5. A cold-blooded murder was perpetrated in Harrington street, Hobart. The victim was charles Whelan, aged 6">, a watersider living alone. He was shot dead by two men who later* were seen running away from the scene. A neighbour heard men demanding money in the vilest language, also Whelan’s protests. He then heard a shot and a curse. After following the nu n for some distance he returned and found Whelan dead.
