CEASE THEIR STRIKE DECIDE TO RESUME WORK (Pet Tress Association). Wellington. Feb. Tile Lower Hiitt and Petone brunches of the relief workers’ organisation decided this morning at separate meetings to resume work immediately. accepting the conditions, laid down. Before the decision was announced 170 men had applied for work at Lower Hutt and at Petone 150 men were working. The Eastbourne men all returned to work to-day. - lILGE GRASS FIRE IN ROLLESTON DISTRICT RESIDENTS FIGHTING IT A huge grass and scrub lire is reported from the Rollestou district. It, lias a frontage of a mile and lias advanced two miles towards Springston. with a fierce nor’-wester behind. All the residents of the district are engaged in lire lighting.
