LYTTON STREET SCHOOL
MONTHLY MEETING OF COMMITTEE Mr .Tns. Penney presided at the monthly meeting of (he Lytton Street School Committee, and there were also present Mesdames Sandford and McCorlcindale, Messrs W. B. Short, and T. K. Hay (Secretary). Th 0 headmaster reported lhat the school roll stood at 325 with an averag'd attendance of 298.0. Inspectors Law and Crosby visited the school during th e month and their report indicated that they were satisfied with tile progress and discipline of the school. ■' The preliminary work in connection with Ihe ground improvements scheme had been completed and plan <5 were well forward for th 0 major work. The Committee approved of the suggestion of the headmaster to hold Parents’ Day on October 23, when the children will hold ail exhibition of their work and provide ft programme of entertainment. The thanks of the Committee wore dup to Mrs Dowriek for donating seVeral flowering shrubs, and Mr F. Mason for the gift of two dozen roses. Tn connection with the proposal to approach the Feilding Agricultural High ftchool for the ns e of the baths for Lytton street, school pupils, it was decided not. to proceed with the deputation until the High School was assured of an adequate water supply from the Borough Council.
