CHANGE IN ORGANISATION

A War Office memorandum declares that recent developments in military science particularly tlie continuous , extension of mechanised tranSJiort, have necessitated a modification of organisation which is substantially changed since 1914.
Tt lias decided to concentrate under a single member of the Army Council the study of technical problems relating to military stores and vehicles ensuring more scientific grouping and other duties. Consequently the Master-General of the Ordnance v-ill be responsible for research experiments with design rfack, semi-track and other vehicles, and the majority of stores except tlie Army Service Corps’ vehicles. ffhe Quartermaster-General to - the Forces takes over fortification works. The- accommodation of troops also involves the creation of tlTc fourth principal officer, tho Deputy-Master of the Ordnance, attached to general headquarters in war time.
