A LATE SEVERE FROST

More variable weather -conditions have not been experienced in Feilding than during the past few days. A heavy downpour of rain throughout Saturday night did not help to improve the sodden underfoot conditions and Sunday, although, fine, was not the least enjoyable. During the afternoon a high wind rose, increasing in velocity ns the night wore on. Yesterday the wind changed to the south and conditions became much colder. Towards \ evening the sky cleared, the wind dropped and a severe frost set in, giving rise to fears for the early an fruit crops.
