TTMARI’ TO CHRISTCHURCH A. A. MORYYOOD WINS (Per Press Association), Christchurch.'. Sept. 10. One hundred and three -riders start od from Timaru on the long ride, to Christchurch. The roneU were good, but on tlie early part of the journey greasy. patches gave the riders a, spa iter ling of mud. A light northeasterly breeze was against the riders There- wore few falls, but a fair number of punctures. The winner. A. A. Morwood. Pa pa mu, who' had a handicap of Ifimins., had a puncture at Temuka and lost six m'■nines, hut joined the Ift minutes handicap bunch and led them along at the finish. Nine men entered the showgrounds together, and a desperate sprint over the track for the finishing lino- ended in Morwood gaining ihe load by ha.ll a length. Results:— A. A.
