He said that upwards of three hundred passengers visited Cliunuk Bair for the unveiling of the New Zealand memorial to the dead. He considered that Mr'Hurst Seager, the New Zealand architect who designed the memorial, had selected a most suitable site. The inemoriar was visible for miles around and was seen from the Dardanelles It was most effective, the sunliiht gleaming on the side projections. The contratcors had contruidbed the memorial with the greatest-care.
The Lone Pine and Holies Memorials were also imposing structures Sir James Allen visited many eemotries and placed wreaths on many graves which were amid peaceful surorundiugs. General Godley and others ascended the crest of Aclii Bara and were impressed with the impregnable positions which the Turks held during the defence oi the Benin ula.
