AERIAL GOLD CUP. London, Juno 23. Seventeen airmen competed in a race over a 190-mites course, twice encircling London. Captain Gothergood, using an Airco machine, won tho Gold Cup and £500. The time was ISOmin. Hawker was disqualified on tlie ground that his machine belonged to the Government, and he did not start. NATIONALISATION OE COAL. - An official message states that Mr Justice Sankey's report separately recommends the Government immediately to acquire all the coal royalties, compensating the owners, and to purchase the mines at a fair price after three years. The miners' delegates agree with Mr Sankey substantially. It is thought that the Labourites ■Smillio.* Hodges, and Smith, will oppose compensation for royalties. The owners' delegates will oppose the nationalisation of mines, but favour State co-operation with owners under a Ministry of Mines. They do not oppose ihe acquirement of their royalties if they receive compensation. Sir Arthur "Duckriam, chairman ot the Advisory Committee of the Ministry of Munitions, in an independent report, sums up against the nationalRation of collieries. Ho says the Government should acquire the mineral rights. GERMAN EXODUS TO SOUTH AMERICA. New York, June 18. The New York Sun's correspondent reports that a great emigration movement to South America is spreading i n Germany. A Government emigration office has been established for the purpose of aiding emigrants. It is estimated that fully ■j.000,000 Germans will leave their country. BELGIAN CONGO . Capetown, June 18.
