~ . „...,. Dublin. Major William Redmond never recovered consciousness after being wounded, and died within a few hours. His body was removed to the little village of Loecre, some miles behind the fighting line. At the urgent request of the Belgian community and nuns in the village, it was buried there in tho private garden of the convent.

The burial services were conducted by the chaplains of the Ulster and the South of Ireland Divisions, and were attended by representatives of all the troops within reach. The grave was decorated with flowers by tho children of the village., and a farewell volley was fired by a mixed bpdy of men representing the two divisions.
