SATURDAY'S PLAY. The local Thirdß were visited by the I'iraics ou Saturday, the visitors sufleruig deletit by ti pomis to 3, alter a very close game, in the lirst hall lhe local forwards were too good lor llic blacks, Dyke scoring a well deseived try ior tiie Yellows. The kick at goal tailed. From this until hail-time tlie game was fairly even. In the -second spoil Yellow pressed the Blacks back into their twenty-lives and from a mark Murdoch kicked a neat goal. Pirates livened up at this and within the last few minutes McSwecney made a good run resulting in a score by l,iddle. The scores were not altered; the whistle sounding time. Mr. J Hughes controlled the game. The result of the Old Boys-Pirates match will be found on page 1.
