GERMAN RESIGNATIONS
Amsterdam, July 15
There is confirmation of A : on Hollweg's resignation, coupled with the resignations of AVar Minister General yon Stein and several Secretaries of State. These resignations reveal tho completeness of the upheaval. The newspaper Gerniania states that the new Chancellor (Dr. Michaelis) will accept a proposal, if supported by a majority of the Reichstag, for peace without indemnity and annexation. The Kaiser will concur.
The Reichstag meets as soon as the Chancellor is appointed.
GERMANY AVAKING UP

German news leceived ill Switzerland shows that the people are irritated at the unsuccessful conduct of tho war, and are indignant at the gross diplomatic blunders and systematic dissemination of false ollicial news. The irritation is increased by the reckless squandering of lives on the west front, while the Russian advance has caused a great wave of depression. Copenhagen, July 15. Dr. Michaelis's appointment as Chancellor came as a surprise in German political circles. He was a comparatively unknown bureaucratic and Civil servant until he enme into prominence as the Prussian Food Minister, The" newspaper press generally regards him as strong and clever, with unusual energy, and as not belonging to any political party. ANOTHER SENSATION. Amsterdam, July 15. Tho Dutch newspapers quote the Bavarian Kurier's announcement, which has caused a sensation in Germany, attributing to Yon Hollweg in a privato conversation, the saying that, '"At the best, the war can only end in a draw."
