SENSATION AT APIA.
STRANGERS IN LIGHTHOUSE
MAN CHARGED WITH ESPIONAGE.
The flash of a Morse lamp signalling to sea was noticed from the pilot station at Apia on the evening of Easter Sunday, tho Fiji Times states. A detachment was .sent to investigate, with the result that foiir Germans were found in the lighthouse, one of whom is a British subject. They were brought in and put tinder arrest. The tlreo Germans were interned in Songi camp. The naturalised Britisher is to be tried by courtlmartial as a spy, he having been identified by one of the soldiers as being in Egypt at the time of the landing of the first New Zeahnd Expeditionary Force. The Germans had a good equipment, includii'.'j; American examining charts and a telescope that was sot on a tripod, with a range of 30 miles.
