APITI SALE.
The N.Z.L. and M.A. Co. report: At Apiti on Tuesday had a heavy entry of sheep and a moderate yarding of cattle, Avhich met with a good sale, resulting in the bulk of the entry being sold at late rates: Cull ewes 5s 3d to 5s 6'd, low-condition ewes 7s 7d, S:m. ewes 14s, 4 and 5-year ewes los 9d to 16s 4d, 4 and 6-tooth ewes (small) 13s, 2, 4, and 6-tooth ewes los, 2-tooth ewes 16s 7d, 2-tooth ewes (good) 18s 4d a 4 and 6-tooth CAves (good) 19s sd, medium lambs 6s scl to 7s lid, forward lambs lOsj fat lambs 13s 2d, SouthdoAvn ram lambs 255, aged rams 12s 6d to 20s, Lincoln rams' 2gns to 3A-gns. Weaner pigs ss, slips 10s 9d to lls, stores 15s. BURNSIDE MARKET. Dunedin, March 4. Fat Cattle.—Best bullocks £14 to £15, medium to good £11 to £13, light £9 10s to £10 10s, best cows and heifers £10 to £11 10s, extra to £14, medium to good £8 to £9, others £6 to £7 10s. Fat Sheep. —There was a lair-sized yarding, 2585 being penned, but not many prime sheep came forward. Freezing buyers Avere operating, but on slightly reduced limits. Owing to the decision of the Imperial Government regarding the export of meat, prices Avere about Is per head below those ruling last Aveek, but medium quality eAves showed a drop of Is 6d to 2s per head. Prime Avethers 24s to 265, extra to -31s, medium "22s to 235, light 18s to 19s, prime ewes 21s to 235, extra to 27s 6d, medium 17s 6d to 18s, light to 15s. IT at Lambs. —There Avas a small yarding, 700 being penned. The entry contained a large proportion of medium quality. Prices generally Avere much the same as last Aveek. Good lambs met Avith fairly keen competition, but medium and unfinished Avere dull of sale. Good 17s to 19s, extra to 22s (id, medium 15s to 16s, unfinished to 14s 6d.
' Pigs.—Seventy-four fats and 40 stores were penned. Fat pigs were slightly easier, and stores sold much the same as at last sale.
