In the Lancashire-Austral match, in which the home team had scored 145 in the first innings, the Australians completed their first innings today for 177 (Macartney 80, Hazlitt 2, Emery 14, Whitty 17, MacLaren 0, Carkeek 1 not out. sundries 10). Lancashire's 4 second innings yielded 18S (Spooner 25, J. Tyldesley 7, Makepeace 52, Sharp 9, Heap 6). The Australians had lost one wicket for 29 in their second turn when stumps were drawn.
