OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.

The above mission started at Kimbolton last Saturday in .very unfavourable weather. The rain/;however, badly needed, and so, although it ; was '• disappointing that it should happen to" come just as our mission started, still we were not altogether sorry-to see it. In spite of the weather, however, there was a good muster at 7.30 p.im' some coming several miles, when theservice of reception was held and-'-ah-address given by the missioner." OnSunday the weather was still more, tin--propitious, but in spite of it there-• were remarkable gatherings. ■ At r Choi- - - tenham at 11 a.m. a very large ■cd'hgregation came through the pouring; ram from all parts, the service being' held in tho Hall, as the church was-' 1 1 Jar to small to accommodate even hallV' the people. At Kimbolton- at 2.30 p.m., there was a service for men only, and again the men gathered togetherfrom near and far in spite of torrents of ram. Nearly 70 men were present, and the missioner afterwards express- _ ed his astonishment and pleasure at -. such a number rolling up, saying that .he could scarcely, believe it possible had he not been present. He gave a . stirring, straight talk, which was listened to with intense interest by everyone, touching amongst other things upon gambling, purity, love of .pleasure, honesty in the work and business of daily life, and the necessity of being out and out Christians, not oidy for the' benefits Aye receive thereby, but for the good of our country, the benefit of . those amongst ' whom we live, the advancement of > Christ's Church, and for,the glory of God. Though he spoke -for close on > threequarters of an hour, it seemed ■ but a lew minutes, and several after- . wards expressed the wish that he had t gone on longer, for they-could have listened as long as he liked to talk. r . Again in the evening at 7 oclock when > the mission service held' I 'm the ' Anglican Church, a large congregation > gathered, the church being-packed, > the aisle and front and ; back of the- > church being filled with forms-'and ■ chairs. The singing was most • hearty-' > and earnest, and again 'the missioner" was listened to with, rapt attention » from start to finish speaking of ,thea absolute necessity of conversion, the ' breaking away from sin to righteouß- ! " es ?> f rom the power of Satan to • 3 bod. He spoke further of the necessity of first believnig in God, and e'mr phasised the fact that we do know

what God is like, for Jesus Chris b was God, and came on earth to reveal God to tis, and when we look at the life of Christ and hear Him speaking, or see Him doing anything, we hear and see God, and know just what He is like, for Jesus is God. The mission will continue until Wednesday evening at 7.30, when a special thank-offering collection will be made for blessing received during the'mission. The actual last service of the mission will be a celebration of the Holy Communion on Thursday morning at 7 a.m., when it is hoped and expected that communicants will be present from all parts of the district. --.-..
