Dalgety aiid Co. report:— We submitted 3170 bales. The whole of our catalogue was sold under the hammer, with the exception of a small percentage. There was a large attendance of buyers representing all markets, and competition was keen throughout. The wool opened bright and attractive, and with few exceptions, was sound ami well-grown, very tew lots of log-stained being in evidence. Our catalogue comprised a very good selection, including clips from Wellington, Wairarapa, Wan<4nm, the Manawatu, and Marlborough Included m those from the Marlborough district were some small lines of merino, which met with good competition and realised very satisfactory prices. Prices as compared with last sale showed an advance of about J-d to Id per lb for clips suitable for America, whilst other sorts were about on a par, but, of course, it must be borne in mind that the selection of wool offered in this instance showed a good deal of improvement . on last offering. We are pleased to report that we topped the market with a nice line of half-bred from Blenheim, on account of Mr B. Coloman, Vernon, which realised 12d. Folowing are some of the best prices realised by -us: 6 bales crossbred (11 W Browne, Oolyton), 10d; 5 bales half-bred (H. V. Hammond, Makirik ™\ T "ld; 86 bales fine cross-bred (H. V. Competition was keen for everything offered. As compared with the November sale, values'ruled "" at about the same level, except that for well skirted lines of superior fleece, a small appreciation in price can be quoted. Scouring lots were in good demand, and values were well maintained. Some of our best sales were as follows: Maori Chief over Nirvana, Ist Romney hoggets lpid, and Romney hoggets 9J<l; JHN, Romney ewes 10d, crossbred 82d; JDRH over NOCKMOR medium crossbred hoggets 9£d, crossbred, weth- "■ l d over - F Bri gto, crossbred, £$; aMK, medium crossbred, 9|d; RTT, crossbred hoggets, 9|d; ONA- •;. Murray, Roberts and Co. report: — Wβ catalogued 1300 bales. The condition of the wool was, on the aveage, lighter than at the preceding sale, and some very attractive parcels ; were shown. For those lots suited ■ to their requirements, American buyers operated at prices about Id to below last season's rates. Medium conditioned wools, partly or wholly unskirted, formed a large proportion or the wools catalogued, and for the better sorts there was keen competition, Bradford, and Continental buyers participating freely, the latter being exceptionally keen for the finer grades and pieces. Taken as a whole prices were from par to a farthinoper lb higher than last sale, November 8, but as beforementioned ,it must be borne in mind that the condition of the. wool was lighter in this sale.
