Christohurch, March 29. The debate in connection with the annual contests between the University Colleges was held last night before a large audience. Canterbury ■ College debated against Victoria CoLi lege, and Auckland against Otago. The subject was "That Training and education provided 'by such a University as ours is the best preparation for a commercial or industrial career.' Tho judges placed Auckland first and Otagjo second.
