Exit Dr. Monekton.
A t'uw hours after lie tha.d been iti full possession of his faculties, Dr. Monckton, one of the oldest professional ■residents in FedMing, peacefully ■breathed his la&t on Friday afternoon. Although not in robust health of late, the geitfal doctor was able-to get about as usual and to pass a pleasant quip,, ■a kindly word, and a paternal smile ■to Ti-is many friends as lie made his rounds, so that his sudden death earne ratilier as a shock. But even he himself could wish no more fitting end'to a life of ..usefulness for members of tihe ■community amongst whom he dwelt than came tto him yesterday afternoon. He had an attractive personality, the faimt tinge of hauteur in his composition, inherited probably from 'his'patrician ancestors, being leavened with a pleasant personality, a keen sense of humour, an ardent desire to do something useful and helpful to and a total absence of selfffcnscjiotf siiess. To know the doctor ■was; to like, admire, and respect him,
and there are a large number of (personal friends in the district who will deeply regret tiio absence from their midst of another of those men who are the very savour of life in this work-a-day world.
