Yesterday's work on the training tracks was mostly solid exercise, l'ormby, Parula, and Selene ran six furlongs, Formby finishing in front in 1.17, and Selene also galloping attractively. Kilindini galloped six furJongs in 1.16 2-5. Bridge went lazily over the mile and a quarter. Diabolo and Osiris were taken two circuits at half speed. Sir Ifrisco pleased watchers greatly by the manner in which he moved over the seven furlongs. Gk)ld .Lace, imd-or a strong pull, went nine furlongs, and Waipaku moved freely in a circuit on the tan.

Work on the tracks this morning was of an interesting character. Most of the trainers preferred the plough, but all tracks were open. Lovelorn', with an advantage in weight, beat Zetland and Glenfield over a mile in 1.46 3-5. Madam Madcap defeated Countermine by three lengths over six furlongs in 1.16 from practically a standing start. Prim Prini finished well after running ten furlongs in 2.16. and Gwendolina ran seven furlqngs in 1.36 2-5. Penates (Hatch), with Silkweb's assistance over the last six furlongs, galloped seven furlongs in 1.31 3-5, but went lasily. Fasnakyle beat Husbandman over six furlongs in 1.16 4-5. Tikitere was well in front of Osiris with a light-weight up at the end of a mile in 1.43 1-5. Bridge being l>eaten off, Boanerges held Sharpshooter safe over six furlongs, run in 1.16, finishing very well. Outlander and Flitaway were together after a fast ten furlongs on the sand, run in 2.10, .the former going rather more strongly than his companion at the finish. Guianforte started, but dropped back. Kora defeated Miss Fry in a five furlongs' spin. Kilwinning went pleasingly in a mile and a quarter in 2.12. with an advantage in the weights, beat Formless in a fast 6 furlongs, cut out in 1.17 l-stJa Wthakakura galloped a mile solidly, and Libyan and Gold Braid ran six furlongs. Tenterhook's task was well run. in 1.4 2-oth. Tumut and Cronstadt were well matched in a six iurlong gallop run in 1.16, Dut the latter moved more pleasingly. Kilindini ran seven furlongs convincingly, and 'Broadsword, cut out satisfactorily six furlongs. Susa spurted five furlongs. Inchbonny beat Paragon over six furlongs in 1.16 3-sth, and Veda/witih a pull in the weights, defeated Paragon in a half-mile sprint, occupying 50 4-stih sees.- Osiris was better than All Guns in a fast six furlongs, but the latter was eased a Ittle. Luperin and Windgan worked over a mile. Diabolo was^_given a similar task, and Eagleton and Southern Cross ran seven furlongs. Pretty Nell spurted four"furlongs in 50 l-sth, and Gipsy Bell ran six furlongs comfortably in i.19. Formby, Sir Tristram, Selene, Jean, Zelia, and Pa>rula were given •half to steady paciug. Ingoda was an absentee, but was probably worked elsewhere. ' -

After breakfast, Federal cut out five furlongs brilliantly on the plough in 1.1 2-sth, but was sore after working. Waipaku dashed over a mile in 1.44 3-sth. Gold Lace with Iraniu.s' help, .ran ten furlongs in 2.14.1-5, but finished rather dully. Boutade cut out a mile in 1.43 3-5, and Cannonier galloped six furlongs in 1.17 1-5. iyoi, looking well, was given a working gallop over nine furlongs. Effort beat Sir Frisco narrowly in a fast sixfurlongs .run in 1.15 1-5, both extended. Shillelagh went well in a sixfui'lonigs sprint, and towards the end of operations Passion defeated Merry Lass over a brilliant seven furlongs on the eand, run in 1.19 4-5. Many other horses with engagements at the meeting were worked.
