There was a good demand for ail stock, especially lambs and young cattle. Best fat cows made £4 Ids to £5; lighter weights, £3 15s to £4 ss; store cows, £2 ss; 18-months steers, £2 7s ; heifers, well I grown, good quality, and empty, £2 /s; do., in calf, £2 16s; calves, £1 0s 6d to £1 ss; springing heifers, £4 to £5. Sheep: Fat ewes 10s to 12s; fat lambs, 11s Id to 12s lOd; store do., woolly 8s lOd to 10s, shorn do., 6s. Pigs: Slips, 16s; weaners, 7s 6d to 11s 6d; porkers, £1 12s 6d. HAWKE'S BAY SALES. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., -report having held their fortnightly sale at Onga Onga. A large yarding of sheep were offered to a good attendance of the local settlers. Vendors' resenfes, however, in most oases precluded business oeing done. Following sales were made, by us: — 138 five-year ewes 9s 6d, 40 full-mouth 1 eves 6s 3d, 74 mixed age half bred
