PALMERSTON STOCK SALES.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows : At Pahuerston yesterday a good yarding of all classes of stock was offered, lambs and aged ewes were not so keenly sought after and several lines were passed at auction^ but with few exceptions the various lines changed hands at satisfactory prices. Steers were dull of sale but other classes all sold freely. We qudte: Fat 2tooth wethers, lis 10dj fat ewes, lis sd; 2-tooth wethers, 10s 3d; 2-tooth ewes, 13s j sound mouth ewes, 10s 2d to lis; 2, 4, and 6-tooth ewes, 12s 9d; woolly lambs, 9s 9d; shorn lambs, 8s 4d to 8s 6d; cull 2-tooth ewes, 8s Id; aged ewes, 4s 3d to 6s; cull lambs, 2s 3d to 5s 4d. Cattle. — Forward bullocks, £6 6s; 3-year steers, £4 7s 6d to £4 15s; 2*-year steers, £3 18s 6d to £4 ls; fat cows, £4 to £4 18s 6d; forward cows, £2 10s to £3 6s ; store cows, 30s to £2 ls ; dairy heifers in calf, 38s 6d to £2 8s; bulls, £3 2s 6d to £4 10s. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report: At our Palmerston North sale yesterday we had a very good yarding of sheep and cattle and although the demand was not particularly keen, we managed to quit the majority of our entry. We quote: Cull 2-tooth wethers, 8s 8d ; small 2-tooth wethers, 9s 9d to 9s lOd; medium lambs, to. 7s lld ; medium" wethers, to 10s 4d ; 5-year ewes, 9s sd; sound mouth ewes, to lis; 2-tooth ewes, small, to l'2s 4d; 3-year steers, to £4 17s 6d; empty heifers, to £2 15s; fat cows, to £3 15s; fat and forward bullocks, £6 9s. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co. report: At Palmerston North yesterday a moderate yarding of sheep and cattle came forward and a medium sale resulted. We quote: Sheep. — Wethers, small Bsßdto9s.9d. Cattle.— Weaners, 13s; 2-year heifers, £2 16s; yearling heifers, 255; store cows^ £2 14s to £2 16s ; store cows and" heifers. 35s 6d; light fat cows, £3' 10s; springing cows, £5 10s. RAUMAI STOCK SALE. , The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report: At Raumai we had a good yarding of sheep and cattle. Sheep dragged somewhat but all lines were quitted at satisfactory prices. We quote: Sheep. — 2, 4, and 6-tooth ewes, 12s; f.m. ewes, lis; store ewes, 6s 6d; rape lambs, 8s 6d; store lambs, 5s to 6s; cull lambs, 3s 9d. Cattle. — 18-months steers, £2 10s; forward cows, £2 19s; bulls £3.
