FOR ABUSING A CONSTABLE. [UY TtLEGRAI'H.J (Special to the Stab.) Foxton, February 10. At the Foxton S. M. Court, yesterday, the Magistrate, Mr Thomson, imposed the maximum fine of £5 on F. S. Easton, fiaxmiller and farmer, for having used insulting language to Constable Woods in a public place. From the evidence, it appeared that Easton was dissatisfied with evidence given by Wood in an action, and thi he said caused him to use the language complained of. The Magistrate emphatically declined .to increase the fine to enable an appeal to be lodged.
