THE SPORTS.

.«, FEILDING ATidLETIC CLUB ON BOXING DAY. •A great deal of work has been done during tho past month on Victoria Park in preparation for the annual gathering on Boxing Day, and the oval is now iooking at its best. For the various pedestrian and cycling events, the tracks have been put in perfect order, and the racing should be firstolass. Included in the competitors are some of the leading pedestrians and cyclists of the North Island, and the events are bound to be keenly contested. The club last year adopted the idea of adding horse events .to the programme, reviving an old-time custom, and this proved such an attraction that the pony jumping for boys aJid girls and the open hunters' events will take place again this year. On Boxing night a concert will take place in the Drill Hall, for which the most attractive programme possible has been arranged.
