THE TEST MATCHES
(Received December 21, 9.50- a.m.) Sydney, December 21. The programme for the next Australian cricket tour has been arranged. The first test match is to be played at Birmingham on May 26, the second at Lords on June 14, and the third at Leeds on July 1, the fourth at Manchester on July 26, and the fifth on the Oval on August 9. Al l are to be three-day matches, except the last, which may be continued on the fourth day if the rubber depends on the result. SOUTH AFRICAN TEAM. The Board will invite a South African team to visit Australia next season. ! OLEM HILL AND NOBLE DOUBTFUL. Clem Hill, the well-known cricketer, states that the financial arrangements are unjust to the players, and he would not think of going to England under the terms. Noble holds similar views.
