Wool Sales.
Telegraph. Press Association. Copyright. London, January 15. The wool sales opened brisk, and merinos advanced 5 to 7£ per cent, Auckland. January 15. The second wool sale of tbe season under the auspices of the Auckland Wool Brokers' Association took place to-day. Upwards of 4000 bales were offered, the bulk of which was placed. Prices ruled much the same as at the opening sale, but the market seemed a trifle sounder, bidding being more animated and competition for lots was keener. Finer wools were slightly inferior to the first clip, and the top price realised was 7d as against 7_d in December, while the average prices was s|d to 6d. Crossbreds showed no change, and ayeraged 4f dto s£d, and the same may be eaid of coarse wools, price*- ruling from 4£d tb 4£d. Superic cotced and dingy wool showed a slight advance, averaging B£d to 4d, as against 3£d to BJd.
