The Newtown Sensation.

(Per Press Association) Wellington. January 27. The charge against Wm. Entwistle, of attempting to mnrder his wife, daughter, and a man named Morris at Newtown on 12th inst., was continued to*day. Very little fresh evidence was adduced on behalf of the police, who then closed their case and evidence was taken for the defence. The line of defence is in the direction that accused's mind was deranged owing to domestic troubles. The case was further adjourned until Monday.
