(Per Press Association.) Wellington, January 28. The fifth round of the inter-club matches was played today, and resulted as follows : — Napier beat Hastings by 61 to 49. ■ Gisborne beat Palmerston North by 65 to 59. Wellington beat New Plymouth by 58 to 56. South Island beat Feeding by 85 to 33. Thorndon beat Auckland by 66 to 42. Wanganui and Newtown a tie, 60 each. SIXTH ROUND. Wellington beat Palmerston by 74 to 43. Napier beat Feilding by 75 to 66. Gisborne beat Hastings by 60 to 57. South Island beat New Plymouth by 73 to 54. Wangauui beat Thorndon by 64 to 55. J Newtown beat Auckland by 61 to 49. South Island win the first prize, but not being affiliated to the North Inland Bowling Association are not eligible to hold the banner, and this along with the second prize, will be decided to morrow. The Newtown, Wanganui and Wellington Clubs are equal with five wins each and play off. Glorious weather is being experienced.
