The Irish Party.
o (Per Pre? a Association.) London, Januars 26. At a meeting of the Irish Party, power was claimed to expel members, or ask them to resign on an absolute majority. Mr Davitt moved that it was incumbent on the public to support the policy as declared by the chairman. Mr Healy moved an amendment that pledge to electors was the best guarantee of cohesion. He objected to the chairman being granted the powers mentioned. The division resulted—For the amendment, 16 ; against the amendment, 33. Mr Davitt's motion was then carried, but Mr Healy intends to take no notice of the decision.
