The Devonport Doinian Board interviewed Mr Cadman re grant of £250 out of £5000 set aside to develop the scenic beauties of New Zealand to give access to the top of Mt. Rangitoto. Company at Dunedin, relative to an increase of wages, which were reduced 10 per cent in 1893. Mr Mills has agreed to reinstate the old rates, which are— chief engineers £20 to £25, second £16 to £18, third £13, fourth £12 per month. Wanganui, January 26. To-day the Drainage Board decided to lay an information in the Magistrate's Court against the Sydenham Borough Council for committing a nuisance in putting nightsoil into the sewers, despite the Board's prohibition. Tfiere is very strong feeling in town over the Councils attitude Mr Seddon has replied to F. E. Taylor's request that facilities should be afforded to Ben Tillett to see the Colony, saying that Tillett's position and work entitle him to a frea railway pass, and the matter will be brougnt under the notice of the Minister of Railways.
