Daring Highway Robbery.
3 (Per Press Association.) I Perth, January 25. A daring highway robbery in reported close to Coolgardie. Messrs Mitchell and Paul, manager and storekeeper respec--2 lively of the Bnrbanks Consuls and Burbanks North Mines, drew a large sum from the Bank to pay the men's wages. Driving from town to the mines, three men, armed with rifles, suddenly sur--3 prised them, and ordered M bail up," at the same time firing several shots into the wheels of the buggy. Mitchell and Paull surrendered and were gagged, and , tied to a tree along witb a third man named Houghton who bad appeared on the scene. The robbers decamped with j; £.I^6 in notes. Houghton subsequently . freed himself nnd reported the robbery. A large posse of police and civilians are ' tracking rhe robbers.
