Mr J. S. Nutherford, of the Mistake Station, in. the Mackenzie Country, Relieves th 3 not result of the winter will be that not a sheep will sui \rlve ; those that hvo till the snow goes will dio off when the feed come 3 again. Bat very few can survive the snow, as it must take a long time to disappear, there is such a depth of it. There is lenlly no hope for any of them. The men on the stations are skinning what they can, but the sin* cannot always be packed away, and if left lying thoy shrivel up and become almost worthless. If a thaw comes suddenly the skinning would soon be put a stop to by decomposition. As for the sheep they are mere sija and bone, and one of the difficulties of ,the station life just now is laoi of meat. At the Mistake a bsnst had been killed and was hung up and frozen hard. When the cook wanted stakes ho and to saw them off Where mutton was depended on there is none to be had. The sheep are so wasted that one can lift them by the back like a kitten.
