The Rise in Wheat and Flour.
o (Per Press Association). London, June 2. The English and Continental wheat markets are inclined to buoyancy ; the American is advancing rapidly. Speculative offers of 28s have been made for the Adelaide cargoes ex Glenbank and Dochrya. Adelaide This Day. Some large sales of wheat have been transacted for export to the other colonies, including 100,000 bags at 3s for shipment to New Zealand. The latter colony is also making large purchases of flour. Sydney, June 3. In consequence of the continued cold and dry weather, several lines of produce are hardening. Sales have been effected of bran and pollard at 9d ; maize, 2s Sd ; oats, prime feed, 2-3. Potatoes have advanced os. Wellington, Juue 8. Mr Rona3'ne, General Manager of Railways, who has been making a periodical inspection of the lines in the south, states the rise in wheat has given quite a fillip to business, and considerable quantities are being moved long distances by rail. Great activity prevails at the Bluff, from which heavy shipments of produce are being made. In one week 49,000 sacks of oats were exported. Tue previous record was 9000 less. The Harbour Board is contemplating increasing the wharfnge accommodation. A large area of country is now being put down in wheat in the south.
